My name is Tonya Lewis, and I am a proud mother and grandmother, born and raised in the vibrant state of Texas. I embody the spirit of resilience and creativity, balancing my role as an entrepreneur with a day job.

 

The journey that led to the creation of Uneq Xpressions began with profound, life-altering losses that left me feeling as though my world had been shattered in an instant. Death is an inevitable part of life; the circle of life reminds us that we must all leave this world one day. Imagine losing three of the closest people to you in less than a year. Grief can be a strange companion, often crippling you in ways you never imagined. I found myself navigating the overwhelming waves of grief, which is a complex and intricate part of life that shapes us in unexpected ways.

 

As I sought solace, I discovered my deep love for working with my hands. I turned to crafting as a means to channel my emotions and honor the love I felt for those I had lost. Uneq Xpressions became my therapy in between my therapy sessions. It offered me the opportunity to pour the love I could no longer give to my lost loved ones into my work. Creating helped take my mind off the excruciating heartbreak and pain that I was learning to live with.

 

Each handmade item I create serves as a form of therapy, allowing me to express my love, joys, and sorrows. My creations—including intricate wooden gifts, elegantly designed glass pieces, and uniquely scented candles—are imbued with love, light, and a sense of peace that reflects the journey I’ve traveled.
